If going with Windows 10, I don't recommend leaving the Windows update service turned on unless an update is going to fix a problem you're having or is adding a feature that you want. Start with the optimization guide at the following link: Concerning the matter of the Windows 10 updates, that service can be turned off even in the home edition if you know where to look. VirtualDJ plays nicely with a lot of equipment so I think it's just a matter of you optimizing whatever OS you go with as long as you meet minimum specs.
